ASSE 6020

Medical Gas Systems Inspector Training

A 24-hour training course to meet the requirements to sit for the ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Systems Inspector exam. The ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Systems Inspector will inspect the installation of medical gas and vacuum systems per NFPA 99.

Recertification
  • Candidates shall be employed by a governmental unit as a plumbing and/or mechanical inspector, or as an administrator of such inspectors, or be a person regularly involved in the design, inspection or verification of medical gas systems, or be a 6010 Installer. Candidates shall have a minimum of two (2) years of documented practical experience of any combination of the above.
  • The general knowledge of the latest medical gas and vacuum system codes including terminology.
  • Medical gas system product component knowledge and identification of proper production performance
  • Proper Installation procedure as it pertains to manufacturer requirements, local jurisdiction requirements, and physical location requirements.
  • Knowledge of systems and system component testing as well as proper documenting and recording of the tests. Emphasis will be on state and local agencies in California, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, and Oregon.
  • Includes assistance with registering for the ASSE 6020 exam through a recognized third party certification agency such as NITC or METC.
  • Each student must complete 24 contact hours
  • Course location is negotiable. Location will need to meet certain requirements.

 

  • We offer a 4 hour training course for current ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installers to complete in order to meet the requirements to sit for the re-certification exam. Those candidates with expired ASSE 6010 Credentials must take the full 32 hour training.
  • The recertification training will cover the same topics as the initial training and is based on the current edition of NFPA 99.
  • Includes assistance with registering for the ASSE 6010 exam through a recognized third party certification agency such as NITC or METC.
