ASSE 6010

Medical Gas Systems Installer Course

A 32-contact hour training course to meet the requirements to sit for the ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installer exam. The ASSE 6010 Credential is the required qualification for the installation of medical gas and vacuum systems throughout the United States.

PREREQUISITES

  • Candidates shall have a minimum of four (4) years of documented experience in the field of installation of plumbing or mechanical piping systems.

WHAT'S COVERED

  • The general knowledge of the latest medical gas and vacuum system codes including terminology. Emphasis will be on state and local agencies in California, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, and Oregon.
  • Medical gas system product component knowledge
  • Proper Installation procedure as it pertains to manufacturer requirements, local jurisdiction requirements, and physical location requirements. We will go over best practices during the brazing component of the course.
  • Knowledge of systems and system component testing as well as proper documenting and recording of the tests.
  • Includes assistance with registering for the ASSE 6010 exam through a recognized third party certification agency such as NITC or METC.

HOURS REQUIRED

  • Each student must complete 32 contact hours
  • Course location is negotiable. Location will need to meet certain requirements.

RECERTIFICATION

  • We offer a 4 hour training course for current ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installers to complete in order to meet the requirements to sit for the re-certification exam. Those candidates with expired ASSE 6010 Credentials must take the full 32 hour training.
  • The recertification training will cover the same topics as the initial training and is based on the current edition of NFPA 99.
  • Includes assistance with registering for the ASSE 6010 exam through a recognized third party certification agency such as NITC or METC.
